VERONA — The Verona Food Pantry is asking area residents for donations through the summer.

Linda Finnerty, a representative of the pantry, said summer is the time of year Verona Food Pantry is hit the hardest. Children who are normally in school will need to be fed at home over the summer, which puts an added strain on all the local food pantries, she said.

The pantry could use donations of canned pastas and soup, tuna, children’s cereals, juice, peanut butter and jelly.

Donations can be left at the Verona Methodist Church, the Verona Post Office or the Route 31 Deli and Grocery. Money donations can be mailed to the Town of Verona Food Pantry, 5690 Main St., Verona, N.Y. 13478.
