Captain Jerry Gertz of Gems Along the Mohawk has been named this year’s winner of the Tourism Award by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce.

Gertz was recognized for his "continuing effort to grow his cruise business, bringing thousands of visitors to Herkimer county, which is both economically and socially beneficial to the area."

Opening day for the business is Sunday, May 20.
