Poisonous, invasive plants class Wednesday

WHITESTOWN — Signups are due for the $5 "Poisonous Plants and Invasive Species of Central New York" class to be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Pre-registration is required by contacting the Extension Office at 736-3394.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County Master Gardeners will be offering the class. Participants can learn about local poisonous plants to avoid, as well as non-native, invasive plant species that threaten floral biodiversity and wetland ecosystems.

Instructing the class is Lucas Russell, Master Gardener Volunteer participant who will provide information about the plants and ways to control the invasive species.

The class will be at the Oneida County Cornell Extension office, 121 Second Street, south of Judd Road and east of Airport Road.
