Jewel Corrigan Boyd, 90, formerly of E. Linden St., Rome died Tuesday, May 08, 2012 at Bethany Gardens. She was born March 1, 1922 in Rochester, NY the daughter of Raymond Charles and Ann Corrigan Smith. She graduated from Rochester High School and Rochester Business School. On July 25, 1942 in Rochester, NY she married Kenneth G. Boyd, a loving marriage of 62 years. He died December 9, 2004.
Jewel worked as a secretary for Robert W. Trowell and then the Rome City School District. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church, serving as Deacon and a member of Circle Five. Jewel was a member of the Tamarac Twig and Wednesday Morning Club. Jewel was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was always kind to everyone.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Richard Cianfrocco, Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sheila Harris Boyd, Remsen; grandchildren, Jesse Boyd and his wife, Heather, Valdosta, GA, Ian Boyd, Boonville, Colin Boyd and his wife, Kristin, Albany, NY, Corin Cianfrocco, Fairport, NY, Rebekah Cianfrocco, San Diego, CA, and Abbie Cianfrocco, Rome; great grandchildren Jillian and Seamus Boyd. She was predeceased by a sister, Francis Austin and a twin-brother, Charles Smith.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Rome. Interment will be in Rome Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home for Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court St., Rome Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Upstate Cerebral Palsy, 1020 Mary Street, Utica, NY 13501.
