More than 30 grams of marijuana were found at an Emerson Avenue apartment Monday night when law enforcers went to take a 29-year-old man into custody on an open arrest warrant.

Police said Jason W. Smith, of 117 Emerson Ave., was wanted on a bench warrant out of City Court. Smith was found in his residence at 10:50 p.m., police said, along with two glass jars containing 32.5 grams of marijuana.

Police attempted to take Smith into custody, and they said he pulled his arms away and resisted. Smith is charged with fifth-degree possession of marijuana and resisting arrest, authorities stated. He was held in lockup overnight to await arraignment today in City Court.
