Police charge two after man hallucinates from bath salts

NEW HARTFORD — A man and women were both charged at the Pinecrest Motel Sunday morning after law enforcers said the man ingested the synthetic drug bath salts and hallucinated that he was being followed.

Police said they were called to the motel on Seneca Turnpike at 10:45 a.m. for a report of criminal mischief.

During the investigation, police said they were approached by Benjamin Yager, 22, of Constableville, who told them that he was being followed by an unknown person who was also filming him while he slept.

Police said Yager had taken the drug bath salts earlier that morning and was hallucinating. Police said Yager was taken into custody for unlawful possession of marijuana, and they also charged Tiffany L. O’Dell, 22, of Whitesboro, with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

They are both scheduled to appear in Town Court.
