The Rome Free Academy junior varsity softball squad claimed its eighth win of the season with a 9-6 decision over visiting Central Square on Monday.
Dana Glantz scored three runs and triple at the dish, as Alyssa Fazio threw a complete game to grab the win while striking out six batters.
Rome’s record moves to 8-4 on the season.

In other junior varsity action, the RFA girls lacrosse team lost to host Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, 17-10.
Veronica Kessler fired in five goals to lead Rome, as Cheyenne Smith added three goals and an assist, and Lyndon Hall had a goal and two helpers. Gabbie Carter scored a goal and Mackenzie D’Auito made two assists.
Goaltender Lauren McCarthy recorded 12 saves in net, and Megan Pritchard tallied six saves.
