Rome Salvation Army, 410 W. Dominick St., will host the Introduction to the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services Training program on Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5. Both days are free.

Pre-registration is required by April 30 by calling Melita Foster at 336-4260.

Volunteers for the Salvation Army interested in serving local, regional and national disaster response scenes are being sought to participate. The event is open to the public.

An Introduction to the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. May 4. A meal will be served at 5 p.m. prior to the program.

An Introduction to the Salvation Army Incident Command Structure will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 5, with snacks provided.

The trainer for both sessions will be Leslie Vattimo, the Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services director, Empire State Division.
