Tine places first at regional meet

ANDOVER, Mass. — Rome’s McKenzie Tine, representing CNY Gymnastics in Syracuse, placed first in the vault event during the Level 9 Region 6 USAG gymnastics meet held over the weekend.

Tine posted a winning score of 9.525.

The meet included gymnasts from New York, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

King of Kings Run set for Saturday

UTICA — The inaugural 5-kilometer King of Kings Run will take place on Saturday starting at the Parkway Recreation Center at 9 a.m.

Race day registration will be held between 7:30-8:45, or entry forms can be downloaded prior to the event on the Web at: www.kingofkingsutica.com

The cost for pre-registration is $20 and race day registration is $25. There will be t-shirts presented to the first 50 entrants, and awards will be given out to overall and age division winners.

The event is a fundraiser for the King of Kings SAT Prep program in conjunction with the high school summer league that will be held in July.
