UTICA/HOLLAND PATENT — Jim Pine (James Arthur Washington Pine) passed away peacefully on Jan. 28, 2012 while surrounded by family.
Born on October 24, 1925 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he attended Roslyn High School, Ithaca College and graduated from Springfield College.
A radioman with the U.S. Navy’s 8th Fleet during WWII, he married high school sweetheart Jacqueline Mae Woolf on July 10, 1948 and had five children.
Jim gained employment at Griffiss AFB and the family settled in Holland Patent, NY where they attended the First Presbyterian Church. The couple lived in Venice and Culver City, CA from 1977-2011, returning to Central NY last summer.
James is survived by his wife Jacqueline; his children: Sally McDugald (Tom); Laurie Wallace (Bob); Gordon Pine (Tracey); Carrie Pine and Valery Behr; 8 grandchildren: Moka Sullivan (Chris), Hazen and Valerie McDugald, Scott and Cameron Wallace, Katie Pine, Jesse Taman and Hunter Behr; 2 great-grandchildren: Ian and Garrett Sullivan; his sister Dorothy Gleisner (Stig) and a close, extended family.
A private ceremony will be held. The family is grateful for the compassionate care and support received at this time. Arrangements are with the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home Forty Main St. Whitesboro.
