TOWN OF NEW BREMEN — A teen-age driver was hospitalized in Lewis County Sunday night when she swerved to avoid a deer and instead struck a tree.

Sheriff’s deputies said Colleen A. McIntosh, 17, of Copenhagen, was westbound on Tillman Road at 8:51 p.m. when she tried to avoid the deer. Deputies said McIntosh lost control of her car and went off the roadway into a tree.

McIntosh complained of head pain and was treated at the county hospital, authorities said.
