Sherry S. Eddy, age 65, of Rome, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2012, with her loving family at her side.

She was born June 19, 1946, in Rome, a daughter of Louis G. and Virginia McCue Simon, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1965. Sherry was employed at Rome Memorial Hospital for many years. She served as a Brownie Leader for years and was a former member of the 4H Club and the Lake Delta Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was of the Methodist Faith.

Sherry is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Tania Ernenwein of Rome, Traci and Roger Bondarenko of Rome, Tara Eddy of Oriskany and Tami and Eric Battin of Rome; a sister, Roxy Simon of Holland Patent; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Cliff Simon of New Jersey, Russell and Jennifer Simon of Albany, and Ronald Simon of Saratoga Springs; five grandchildren, Kyle Ernenwein, Ariel Williamson, Alyssa Battin, Abigail Battin and Hannah Bondarenko; and a niece and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Rosemary Simon.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 6:00 p.m., at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Monday 3 to 6 p.m., prior to the funeral service.
