BOONVILLE — A Kentucky man is facing multiple charges — including drunken driving — after law enforcers said they found him speeding recklessly and spinning circles in his pickup truck on village streets Sunday night.
Police said several neighbors called 9-1-1 at about 7:45 p.m. because a red pickup truck was spinning circles in the middle of Erwin Street.
Corporal Eric McIntryre responded, and soon found the pickup speeding on nearby Post Street. Police said the pickup squealed its tires as it peeled out of a parking lot, and then was speeding at more than 65 mph in a 30 mph zone northbound on Post Street.
The pickup truck was also frequently swerving into the southbound lane.
McIntyre made the traffic stop and police said he pulled over Michael Martin, 23, of 117 Lynwood Drive, Williamstown, Ky. Police said Martin was "extremely intoxicated," but he refused to take a breath test.
Martin is charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right, unsafe backing, unlicensed operation, squealing tires and speeding, police said. He was arraigned in Town Court and sent to county jail on $5,000 cash bail or bond.
