Various fitness courses will be starting in early January at the Ava Dorfman Senior Citizens Civic Center, 305 E. Locust St.
Signup is under way by calling 337-8230 as health screening and physician release forms are required for fitness classes.
Offered are:
Basic Fitness starts Wednesday Jan. 4, taught by Kathy Angleton, for $38 or $28 for members. It’s an "All in One" fitness class which includes cardiovascular, strength-training, toning, balance and flexibility. eight-week session Wednesdays from 2:45-3:45 p.m.
Stay Young/Strong Bones starts Wednesday Jan. 4, for $30 or $25 for members. Nationally recognized program sponsored by RSVP. Exercise to improve muscle strength and flexibility, includes floor work. 12 week class held Wednesdays from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Senior Stretch Yoga starts Jan. 6, taught by Sarah Kaczor of "Just Breath Yoga Studio" for $32 or $26 for members. This class will stretch and move your stiff, sore joints and muscles due to Arthritis, also relieves tension, four-week class held on Fridays from 11 a.m.-11:45 p.m.
Gift certificates are available in any denominations, center officials noted.
