Arlene K. Wolcott

CAMDEN — Arlene K. Wolcott, 97, passed away on November 23, 2011, with her family at her side. She was born May 26, 1914, a daughter of Earl and Nellie Brown Kent in Vienna, NY. Arlene graduated from Camden High School in 1932 and was employed as a switchboard operator for the NY Telephone Company. She married Wallace L. Wolcott on August 17, 1940. He passed away on November 9, 1994. Arlene was a member of the Camden United Methodist Church and was the oldest female member.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Lynette and Edward Rood, Camden; and her son David and Kathleen Wolcott, McConnellsville; four granddaughters, Amy Skumurski, Kimberly Ruggieri, Heidi Fox, and Karen DePerno; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Lawrence, Stanley, and H. Larue Kent; and two sisters, Marjorie Clark and Betty Hess.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, Camden, NY. Calling hours Wednesday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, Camden, NY.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Arlene’s memory to the United Methodist Church, Camden or the Camden Food Pantry.
