Anthony L. Manuele, 79, of Rome, passed away Sunday October 30, 2011 with family at his side. Born September 6, 1932 in Rome, he was the son of Salvator and Anna Callari Manuele. He attended Rome Free Academy and on September 11, 1954 he was united in marriage to Filomena J. Cantarano. Mrs. Manuele passed away on August 17, 2003. Anthony served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.
Anthony was employed by the US Postal Service for many years, retiring as Postmaster of the Taberg Post Office.
Surviving are his loving children, Anthony and Grace Manuele, Brookfield, WI; Michael and Carol Manuele, Rome; Mary Sue and Dennis Gillen, Rome; cherished grandchildren, Tony, Andrew and Kimberly Manuele, Kara and Jenna Gillen. Also surviving are sisters, Anna and Joseph Spero, North Utica; Rose Nawrocki, Toledo, OH; Josephine and Louis Cingranelli, Rome; brother, Lewis N. Manuele, New Hartford; sister-in-law, Connie Manuele, Rome; and several nieces and nephews. Anthony was predeceased by a brother Joseph Manuele, a brother-in-law, Robert Nawrocki, a sister-in-law Christine Manuele, and a brother-in-law Ortenzio (Art) Cantarano.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church at a time and date to be announced. There are no calling hours.
