Federal-style homes focus of tour

UNADILLA FORKS — Wonder what a federal-style house built 200 years ago looks like today? The Upper Unadilla Valley Association invites the public to tour five such homes in and around Unadilla Forks in Otsego County from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 24.

For information, call association president Larraine McNulty at 855-4368.

The cost is $5 per house or all five for $20. Tickets and booklets will be available at each house. Proceeds will benefit the non-profit Upper Unadilla Valley Association, whose mission for more than 35 years has been to preserve and protect the area’s natural and historic resources.

Each of the homes have their original facades and front hall and stairways. Four of the homes are within walking distance of each other on County Route 18 in the town of Plainfield hamlet. The fifth is a short drive away, tucked into the gentle rolling countryside with a pond and perennial flower gardens.
