A holiday concert and "The Muppet Christmas Carol," are slated at the 1101 Floyd Ave. campus of Mohawk Valley Community College.
MVCC Cultural Events include:
Thursday, Dec. 3, local singer and songwriter Ann Walesman, performs a holiday concert at 6 p.m., in the Plumley Complex Auditorium. Her musical style could be expressed as "eclectic," as evidenced in her recordings. There are jazz overtones in some of her songs; others have a pop or more country sound.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, The Family Fun Series presents "The Muppet Christmas Carol," which will be shown at noon in the Plumley Complex Auditorium on the Rome Campus. This event will include a holiday party for children and families.
Also, on the Utica campus, from Thursday, Dec. 3 through Saturday, Dec. 5, the MVCC Liberal Arts Theater Program and the Drama Club will perform Anton Chekhov’s "The Cherry Orchard," at 8 p.m., in the IT Theater on the Utica Campus. The play is a classic drama about people "occupied with flirting, eating, drinking, and talking stupidities." Admission is $5 General, $2 with a college ID, free with an MVCC ID. Tickets can be purchased from the Bookstore Box Office at 735-2945.
