Roman Runners hosting Thanksgiving run

The Roman Runners will be hosting the annual Thanksgiving Day Prediction Run beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday from the Rome Sports Hall of Fame.

The race will offer two distances at 3.5 and six miles. Runners will be asked to predict their time to cover the distance, and the winner will be the runner closest to their predicted time.

Registration is $10 and begins at 7:30 with T-shirts available to the first 100 registered.

All proceeds will be donated to the Rome Sports Hall of Fame.

Turning Stone courses featured in Golfweek

VERONA — All three championship courses at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino are included in Golfweek magazine’s 2010 list of "Best Resort Courses" making it the third consecutive year that Atunyote, Kaluhyat and Shenendoah Golf Clubs have earned spots on the publication’s honor roll.

Golfweek’s raters judge courses on a variety of criteria, including natural setting, quality of conditioning and landscape management.

Turning Stone’s courses are also included in Golfweek’s list of "Best Casino Courses."

The home of the Turning Stone Resort Championship, Atunyote Golf Club is also among the "Best Tour Courses You Can Play," which honors quality public access venues that host the PGA, LPGA, Champions or Nationwide tours.
