RFA season hockey tickets on sale Dec. 1

Rome Free Academy Athletic Director Mike Stamboly announced that season tickets for the RFA home hockey games will be available to purchase this year.

Tickets can be bought at Kennedy Arena on Dec. 1 for the Black Knights’ season opening game against Whitesboro at 7 p.m.

The price for the season tickets are $21 for adults and $14 for students.

TS Championship earns PGA Tour award

The Turning Stone Resort Championship was honored by the PGA Tour at the Tour’s Tournament Advisory Council Meetings this week.

The championship earned an award for "Best PGA Tour Branding and Signage" for its initiatives at Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone Resort.

The Tour branding for on-site signage and collateral materials was designed to provide a classic, consistent look that added to the overall presentation, both on-site for spectators as well as the televised broadcast for the event.

Matt Kuchar captured the 2009 Turning Stone Resort championship in a six-hole playoff over Vaughn Taylor.

The charitable dollars from the event are distributed by the Upstate New York Empowerment Fund, which is a philanthropic arm of the Oneida Indian Nation and the Turning Stone Resort Championship.

HAMILTON — Colgate University will be holding their annual canned food and toy drive during Saturday night’s Colgate hockey game against nationally ranked Princeton.

Fans will have an opportunity to bring either canned food or toys and will receive a general admission ticket to the Raiders’ game with the Bobcats.

Fans must bring one toy or two canned food items in order to receive the complimentary ticket.

Canned food items will help replenish the stock at the Hamilton Food Cupboard, while the toys will be handed over to the Interfaith Holiday Council, which will then disperse the items to families within the Madison County limits.
