ORISKANY — Certificates, membership cards and pins were presented to 23 new members of the Senior National Honor Society and 22 new members of the Junior National Honor Society, inducted at ceremonies Thursday night at Oriskany Central School.

New senior NHS members are: Andrew Albright, Timothy Bouska, Alexandra Bunal, Mason Burns, Stephanie Copeland, Kristin Courtney, Rebecca Dodge, Sean Fortnam, Bethani Gauthier, Carissa Goodspeed, Nicole Graziadei, Karla Heinrich, Matthew Higgins, Jeanel Jalowiec, Sarah Kessler, Wyatt Kotary, Edward Lee, Nathaniel McGee-Martel, Deborah McGlynn, Mark Nelson, Connie Siebold, Alicia Schieble and Nicolle Szalkowski.

New junior NHS members are: Ana Astorga, Daniel Buehler, Krista Burkhart, Brandi Gauthier, Corey Giacovelli, Amber Graves, Christina Graziadei, Sabina Kendic, Charles Koss, Meriah Kotary, Alex Liddy, Cody Murphy, Trevor O’Bryan, Taylor Pratt, Ashley Rueger, Austin Smith, Maegan Szalkowski, Michelle Tanner, Aaron Udall, Shannon VanShufflin, Odessa Werchowski and Brandi Zizzi.

Joseph Keniston, a 2001 graduate of Oriskany Central School, was guest speaker at the ceremony.

The candle lighting ceremony was led by Nicholas Noga, Senior National Honor Society president, with Allison Bates, vice president, lighting the scholarship candle; Mary Panella, secretary, lighting the service candle; Sarah Whittaker, vice president, lighting the leadership candle; and Noga lighting the character candle.
