Mohawk Valley Community Action will host "Highlighting Poverty: The Next Step" from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, July 29 at Mohawk Valley Communnity College’s Utica campus IT Building in room 225. The event, a follow-up session to the "Highlighting Poverty: A Community Symposium" held in June, is free and open to the public.

The purpose of this follow up meeting is to establish a community vision to reduce poverty and create a brighter future for the Mohawk Valley.

The committee, comprised of volunteers from Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, MVCC, Resource Center for Independent Living, Catholic Charities, Utica Safe Schools and Success Strategies, is committed to addressing the issue of poverty and presenting viable strategies for reducing poverty in the community.
