SHERRILL — Moran-Meeker-O’Rourke Post of Camden mounted a four run lead and managed to hang on at the end for a 6-5 victory over host Sherrill Post in an Oneida County American Legion baseball game on Thursday.
Moran notched the four-run lead in the fifth inning, but Sherrill rallied back to one run in the sixth and two in the seventh but it wasn’t enough and the squad suffered their ninth season loss.
Moran’s Mike House received the winning pitching decision after throwing for six innings while giving up five runs on seven hits.
DJ Forbragd batted 3-for-4 with a triple for Moran, while Dylan Smith also had two hits and a double.
Robert Sweet led the Sherrill offense with two hits, including a home run, while Jason Dalton added a triple in the third inning.
Moran’s record increases to 6-4 overall and 5-4 in the league, while Sherrill drops to 2-9 overall.
Moran and Sherrill will be back in action tonight, as Moran visits Smith Post and Sherrill hosts Roberts Post with both games starting at 6 p.m.
